III: Lensvy!
Over the years I’ve generally become the team photographer at my kids’ games. During yesterday’s match, a parent commented “see the parent over there taking pictures? You need a lens like that!” I looked and yes, I immediately had “lensvy.”
II: Honing My Skills
I am torn as to what to write on my second post as it is sort of a chicken-and-the-egg scenario. I need to improve upon my current skills while learning new ones. Meanwhile, what skills need to be honed when I don’t know exactly what I want to do. Photo journalism? Freelance videography? Virtual Reality is primed to be the next big thing. However, shouldn’t I explore as many facets of  photography / videography before deciding which direction to head? All I can say with certainty is that I am not plopping down substantial cash on higher quality glass and base until I know exactly what I want to do.
I: Career 2.0
After 23 years of high-tech software and hardware experience, I can say with certainty that I have never really enjoyed it. Sure, the fat commission checks are great, however the lean quarters balance it out to a certain extent. Furthermore, I hate the “great job!” on days 90/180/275/365, only to be harangued on days 1/91/181/276 about “what have you done for me lately?” Continue reading “I: Career 2.0”
